TRANSLATION PROJECT PROCESS

The translation project process comprises several steps:

  1. Receipt of source files, reference files, instructions, translation memories (if applicable), and so on from customer
  2. Preparation of data for translation (file conversions, creation of translation memory)
  3. Translation
  4. Conversion of translated files into final format
  5. Final processing / DTP
  6. Delivery to customer

The process is fairly simple when providing classic (non-CAT) translation in Office application format (such as Ms Word).

Documents created in DTP applications like InDesign, FrameMaker, or QuarkXPress are translated as follows:

  1. Conversion of the source file (InDesign, FrameMaker, etc.) into "tagged" file format
  2. Translation using CAT tool
  3. Export from CAT tool into "tagged" file format
  4. Import into the source application (InDesign, FrameMaker, etc.)
  5. Final processing in this application
  6. Delivery to customer
